Why Compassion Vacations?

Compassion Vacation began in the hearts of Clay and Michelle Schroff as they traveled around the world doing short-term mission work with their non-profit and local church. They realized that there was not only a need for folks to come alongside of people groups affected by poverty on an international level, but there was also a need for people that were not affected by poverty to experience the joy and perspective of serving those people groups. The Schroffs realized that the stories they shared about how their lives were impacted by simply leaving their comfort zone could profoundly change the world’s perspective on those who are hurting.

Clay and Michelle could not settle on just sharing photos and videos, they started Compassion Vacations so they could share their experience in real time. They became the change they so badly believed needed to happen to make our world a better place, filled with hope, and purpose. The message that is sent AND received is priceless!

I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back.
